Even if the sky is not looking so blue outside you can create your very own sunshiny ambiance indoors with some fun and uplifting cloud print decor and accessories. From patterned textiles and fabrics to wallpaper and crockery, this trend is perfect for a wide variety of interior styles. Choose traditional white and blue for a bright and feminine touch or opt for stormy greys for a masculine take on this designer trend.
There was a time when cloud print wallpaper and murals were a design feature reserved for children’s nurseries and bedrooms, and while this is still a popular choice you can now bring some atmospheric sky designs into other rooms of the home. For a funky retro look then opt for stylised cloud wallpaper on a blue or pastel coloured backdrop that will give a hint of colour and pattern to a minimal interior space. For a more sophisticated , contemporary look then select a large cloud design wall mural in deep black, charcoal and dove grey that will look amazing in a monochrome room or partnered with dusky mauve or lilac for a more feminine touch.
Cloud print cushions are one of the hottest patterns on the high street and come in a wide range of styles and colours. For a simple Swedish inspired design then opt for soft grey cushions with simple white repeating clouds that will look fabulous against a plain white sofa or bed set. An artistic, modern look can be achieved by selecting some photographic cushions featuring a variety of sky scenes such as summer skies, stormy skies and sunset skies to showcase a variety of cloud formations. If you prefer a more 3D design then opt for cloud shaped cushions in black and white or grey and pastel colour tones for a striking visual finish.
If you are looking for an update in your bedroom interior or wish to add some pattern and colour to a neutral space then some cloud print bedding is a fun and stylish way to achieve a new look. For a simple and retro feel then opt for monochrome bedding with a repeating cloud pattern that will look great against a black or white painted bed frame for a co-ordinating finish. For a vibrant and eye-catching look, select a photographic or abstract watercolour style bed set featuring fields and clouds or a sumptuous sunset design that will create a warm yet bright ambiance in which to rest. Don’t forget to include some cloud cushions on your finished bed or a cloud shaped rug for a complete look.
There are a wide variety of cloud design home accessories available on the high street this season. One of my favourites is cloud shaped box lights that make a fabulous alternative to a traditional bed side lamp or a night light in a children’s room. Why not partner this light with matching lightning bolt, sun and raindrop shaped lights for a weather inspired light formation. If you are looking for a practical home accessory then why not display a collection of cloud design coat hooks that can take pride of place in your hallway or porch and provide a perfect place to hang up those wet waterproof coats, hats and umbrellas.
