This season is all about creating a warm and cosy environment where we can hide away from the cold and wet weather that comes with this time of year. An AUTUMNAL CHIC interior design brings together rich and inviting colour schemes with cosy and snuggly fabrics that will create the perfect space to curl up and relax. Autumnal homes are homely and welcoming and can create both a modern and traditional feel within the home.
Autumnal colour palettes are hot on trend this season and can be used to create warmth in any room of the home. Start with a simple base palette of soft creams and beige and accent with rich chocolate brown, burnt orange and mustard hues to create a cosy and inviting feel within your chosen room. Wallpapers featuring silhouetted trees or classic leaf patterns will look great alongside this colour palette as well as simple striped wallpaper for a more modern take on this look. Include wall art that features woodland animals, autumn landscapes of modern abstract art featuring metallic spray like shapes that are reminiscent of a bonfire or fireworks.
Rich and chunky oak furniture is a perfect choice for an autumnal home interior and can be displayed in farmhouse style designs or more linear and lighter oak designs for a more contemporary interior feel. Cream painted furniture will also compliment this colour scheme and creates an elegant feel within your chosen room. If you wish to create some opulence and luxury in your home interior then why not opt for a selection of gold leaf furniture that will compliment the brown and orange colour scheme and create some shimmering glamour that is also perfect for the upcoming festive season.
Opt for textural fabrics and upholstery that are elegant but compliment the warmth of this interior look. For classic autumnal cosiness then choose some tartan patterned cushions in co-ordinating colour schemes and team with a selection of faux fur cushions, throws and rugs that will create an inviting space in which to relax. You could also include some woodland animal cushions such as squirrels, rabbits and deer that will give a highland inspired feel to your overall look. Include some brass or gold storm lanterns that can be filled with fairy lights to illuminate the dark nights and include some gold stage heads or antler effect ceiling lights to add to the rustic and cosy feel of this look.
