This week we are taking a look at how to create the perfect BACHELOR PAD that is full of masculine design features and cool gizmos and gadgets that are perfect for chilling out with a movie or having a games night with your mates. These interior ideas are sure to create a sophisticated but fun interior space with not a hint of femininity in sight!
When selecting a colour palette for your Bachelor Pad then keep to masculine and tonal shades that will create a relaxed designer feel in your chosen room. Monochrome is an obvious choice due to its simple and minimal finish that can be accentuated with pops of colour for a funky and bold design. Grey Palettes that range through soft dove grey to arctic grey and charcoal work extremely well in masculine interior spaces and can be partnered with natural interior elements such as exposed brick walls, heavy wood panelling and beams or polished cement floors for a luxurious yet cosy finish.
No bachelor pad would be complete without a cinema style entertainments system. Opt for a large widescreen TV or a screen and projector that can take pride of place in your living room area or in a designated cinema room for added impact. Include a TV box, DVD player and your favourite games console and make sure you have enough controllers for all of your mates. Surround sound systems will add to the cinema style setting of the interior space and don’t forget to include some super comfortable recliner sofas, leather armchairs or gaming seats for the ultimate in relaxation.
Bachelor bedrooms should be sophisticated and functional with a large cosy bed as the focal point and an array of furniture and storage to ensure that the space remains sleek and uncluttered (in case of any female visitors). Opt for a traditional chunky oak bed frame for a classic finish or select a more modern black or white high gloss frame that will give a hint of contemporary designer charm to the room. Include a built in wardrobe where possible to free up the floor space in the room or matching oak or high gloss designs for a co-ordinating finish. Keep your bedding tonal in white, black and grey or throw in some manly hounds tooth or tartan cushions for a hint of pattern and colour.
They say that women need the most accessories and storage space however modern men can have just as many clothes, shoes and accessories that need to be accommodated into the home. Condensing your accessories into one organised area can make life far easier and a hanging frame for your ties, watches, scarves and wallets provides the perfect option for those with limited space as it can be hung neatly behind a bedroom or wardrobe door to maintain a sleek and uncluttered look. If you like a traditional look then why not place a gentleman’s coat stand in your hallway or living room, providing the perfect space for your coats, jackets and hats.
Finally if sophistication and designer style is simply not your thing then why not go all out with fun and quirky accessories that will create a funky ambiance that will take you and your friend’s right back to your teenage years. Select a bold wallpaper that features graphic novel or comic strip imagery that will create a pop of colour and pattern in your chosen space. You can also select some 3D shaped wall art or book shelves such as your favourite superheroes, gaming characters or film posters that will create a stylish yet amusing focal point on a main wall or alcove area.
