We all like to adorn our homes with pretty accessories and adornments that add to the visual style and elegance of any interior space. This season is all about BEADS and BOWS that create a classic and feminine finish in any room of the home. These simple features can be used to decorate your walls, soft furnishings and accessories to create an eye-catching focal point within the home.
Printed wallpaper is still as popular as ever with both traditional and bold designs making a huge comeback across high street stores. Bows and ribbons make a great pattern on statement wallpaper and are sure to create a stylish and feminine feature on a large feature wall, chimney breast or alcove. Opt for a bold white and pink print design with large and modern bows in a repeating pattern that will look particularly striking in a bedroom or dressing room area. For a more classic finish then why not opt for a period style rich red, green or purple wallpaper with gold metallic draped ribbon and bow detailing that will create a real statement in a living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway.
Beads and bows can be used together across your soft furnishings to create a soft and stylish finish that works across many different interior themes and colour schemes. Beaded cushions are a great way to update a plain sofa or sleeping area. For a colourful, eastern inspired look then why not opt for some fuchsia, purple, blue and yellow satin cushions featuring intricate beading, embroidery and tassels that can be paired with beaded and tasselled curtains and tie backs for a co-ordinating visual finish. If you have some plain cotton cushions that need to be given a new lease of life then you can update them with some wide ribbon, lace or voile that can be tied around the cushion in a parcel style manner and tied with a large bow on the front of the cushion. You can choose any finish and colour combination you wish but make sure that you add some fabric glue or stitches to keep the bow in place.
Lighting is a great way to add some beads and bows into your home interior and can be added in a simple and chic manner or a bold and eye-catching finish that co-ordinate with your interior look. Beaded chandeliers are a classic and elegant accessory that will take pride of place in the centre of the room and create a glamorous look in your chosen space. For an alternative lighting option the opt for a metal light feature and lamp bases featuring bow shaped designs that look great in cream or white finishes for a French chateau style look. Mirrors, picture and photo frames look great with bow detailing and beaded frames or if you have some furniture items that are looking a little dated then give them a new lease of life with some bow shaped door and drawer handles that can be co-ordinated or contrasted to your furniture exterior.
