If the traditional April showers (or monsoons as I refer to them) are getting you down then why not brighten up your interior with a selection of lighting designs that will give a natural, warming glow to your home. Most people would probably think that I have far too many table lamps, floor lamps and light shades in my house but I simply love the way that each light creates a different mood and casts different shadows across the room.
I have a small but powerful desk lamp to prevent any strain on my eyes, an overhanging floor lamp that casts beams of cosy, hazy light across my living room and my crystal chandeliers are intricate and sparkly and give a real splash of glamour to my bedroom. Here at The Furniture Market our lighting collection includes a range of styles, sizes and designs to suit a range of tastes from the traditional to the quirky.
If you love a blast from the past then our funky retro design floor lamps are a truly stylish statement accessory. With an elegant high quality solid marble base and a telescopic extending arm it adds a wonderful glowing ambience to any living space. Extendable floor lamps are a wonderful way to cast light on specified areas such as an art plinth, reading chair or dining table and look especially effective when placed behind a sofa to cast an elegant shadow across your seating area.
Our spotlight tri-pod lamp is inspired by the golden age of Hollywood; with its industrial black metal frame and authentically designed chrome spotlight it would not look out of place on a back lot film set. Its sophisticated design makes it a perfect addition to a traditional or modern interior and is a unique lighting accessory that will be the envy of all your visitors. I have this lamp in the dressing area of my bedroom and it simply oozes glamour and style.
For something more traditional yet quirky then our Kintyre charcoal tripod lamp has a gentlemanly design that looks like it’s been lifted from the pages of a Sherlock Holmes novel. With its tartan shade and gold effect detailing it is the perfect combination of modern design and traditional materials. This table light would look perfect positioned on a large wooden desk in a traditional office or nestled in a quiet corner of a library or study.
For me nothing can brighten up a dull day like a room that has been lit to feel like a warm summer’s day. No matter what the weather is like outside you can always make your interior look and feel welcoming. There is nothing better than curling up on the sofa under a warm bath of light and looking out of the window listening to the wind, knowing that your home is warm, cosy and inviting.
