Have you ever looked around your home and felt that it was looking a little bland and unexciting? Well the COLOUR POP interior trend is set to be the solution to all your interior problems. The beauty of this trend is that it injects colour into strategic areas of the room from soft furnishings, to a feature wall or accessories meaning that it can be easily added to your current home interior without the need for extensive redecorating or expense.
Walls
A feature wall can completely transform the look and feel of your chosen room and is a simple way to add a colour pop into your home. If you have a large plain feature wall in your room then paint with a bold and bright colour or a more muted pastel hue that will draw the eye to that particular space. If you don’t have a large free wall then add your colour pop to a chimney breast or matching alcove areas that will create the same eye catching effect. This look can also be achieved with a selection of colourful and bold patterned wallpapers such as floral designs, geometric patterns or stripes and chevrons that will look great in a wide variety of interior designs.
Fabrics
If you’re happy with your current interior decor but want to add a splash of colour to the room then adding some colourful soft furnishings or fabrics to the room is sure to create a visual impact. A bold coloured velvet fabric will look great on a sofa, armchair or chaise lounge and is sure to add some colourful glamour to your living room or bedroom area. Alternatively why not update a plain seating area or bed with a scattering of colourful and patterned cushions that will create a focal point within the room. A neutral or minimal bedroom area will look great updated with a set of bold coloured curtains, bedding or a head board in bold tropical hues or primary colours. Another great addition to an otherwise neutral space is a bright coloured rug that will create a central focal point within the room.
Accessories
Bold coloured accessories are one of the cheapest ways to add a pop of colour into your chosen room. A statement coloured ceiling pendant will create a centrepiece within the room and create a contrast against the crisp white ceiling. Vases, candles and ornaments in your chosen eye-catching colour can be displayed on a mantelpiece, sideboard or display cabinet for a focalised injection of colour within the room. Wall art is a great way of adding a colour pop into you current room. Opt for abstract style prints in bold primary colours in a trio of canvases on a large feature wall or for a more traditional look opt for a bright floral painting that can hand centrally above a fireplace, bed or seating area.
