Warm and tropical colours are set to be a huge trend for summer 2017 and MARMALADE is a rich and mouth watering orange hue that is sure to create a pop of sunshiny colour in your chosen interior space. This versatile colour will look wonderful in modern, traditional and retro homes and creates an uplifting ambiance in even the smallest of rooms.
Colour palette
For a classic and elegant look then team marmalade with crisp white or rich cream to create a light yet cosy atmosphere that is chic and refined. If you prefer a more masculine or modern twist then try partnering marmalade with soft grey and charcoal for a rich and sophisticated finish. A tropical or Moroccan style design can be achieved by placing marmalade alongside bold purple, red, yellow and blue hues with elements of metallic silver and gold.
Cushions
For a bold and modern appearance then opt for a selection of black, white and marmalade geometric print cushions that will create a striking visual detail on a minimal sofa or sleeping area. A more chic and classic look can be achieved with some floral or baroque style cushions in cream, marmalade and gold that will create an air of opulence in any bedroom or living room interior. For a vintage look then select some funky 1960s or 1970s print cushions in marmalade, mustard and brown that will give a retro feel to your home interior.
Upholstery
Coloured upholstery is set to be another of this year’s biggest trends and orange is a great choice as its bold yet cosy hues will create a focal point in a wide variety of interior settings. A funky, retro egg chair will look great upholstered in a simple marmalade coloured fabric and can be teamed with a white gloss or chrome frame for a sleek and contemporary finish. If you prefer a cosier cottage design then upholster some oak dining chairs in a marmalade striped or floral fabric that will create an inviting dining room area.
Accessories
Simple white and cream ceramics will compliment the bold and rich colour of the interior backdrop and will create a light and bright ambiance within the home. For a traditional yet glamorous feel then a selection of gold, rose gold or copper accessories will add some glistening elegance to any mantelpiece or sideboard area. A more masculine finish can be created with some bold black or grey items such as photo frames, lamps and vases that will create a visual contrast against the marmalade painted walls.
Furniture
Traditional oak furniture will compliment the warmth of the orange colour scheme and create a homely and cosy feel within your chosen room. Cream and white painted furniture will create a sense of space and light, making them a perfect choice for more compact home interiors. A more modern look can be achieved with some white or black high gloss furniture that will provide a visual statement that is sleek and sophisticated. Gold painted, French style furniture will also compliment this look and will create an air of period opulence and glamour.
