This time of year can be extremely dull and grey and it can sometimes put a bit of a shadow over our interior spaces and decor. This season why not inject some colour and illumination into your home interior with a bold and COLOURFUL KITCHEN design. A colourful kitchen area will create a hub within the home in which you can cook, sit and socialise and perfectly brings together style and functionality.
Jewelled colour tones are hot on trend this season and kitchen designers have jumped on board to produce bright and bold door and drawer fronts that will create a burst of colour within your kitchen interior. Opt for stylish emerald green, turquoise blue, ruby red and sapphire pink high gloss finishes that will look amazing with sleek black or white work tops, tiles and splash backs. For a streamlined look, opt for handless soft close cupboards and drawers or select some metallic chrome handles for an elegant cupboard design. These sophisticated kitchens can be teamed with black or chrome kitchen accessories and that will create a contemporary designer finish in the home.
If you prefer a more traditional or vintage look then why not opt for a pastel coloured kitchen that can be used to create a feminine shabby chic feel or a retro 1950s diner look. For a rustic feel select painted kitchen cupboards and drawers in pastel pink, blue, mint or lemon with natural wood worktops and include a large welsh dresser that can be filled with kitchen items, accessories and ornaments and include some brass or copper accessories for a touch of metallic shimmer. For a more retro look, opt for glossy pastel kitchen units with chrome or Perspex handles and sleek white worktops for a crisp yet bright bubblegum feel. Include Bakelite accessories such as bowls, clocks and utensils that will create an authentic vintage feel within your kitchen area.
If you are not brave enough to opt for colour on your main kitchen units then why not add colour as an accent with your worktops, accessories and seating. A crisp white kitchen will look fabulous with bold and brightly coloured worktops that will create pops of colour within the interior spaces. Alternatively why not opt for a statement oven or fridge freezer that can be displayed in a wide variety of primary and neon colour tones that can be clashed or co-ordinated with your kitchen colour scheme. You can also include a coloured toaster, kettle, coffee machine or storage jars that can be used to create a bright and fresh feel in a plain kitchen area. If you have an island, breakfast bar or dining table in your kitchen area then why not include some bold and colourful kitchen stools or dining chairs that feature stylish chrome or copper frames for a modern look or pastel painted wooden finishes for a more vintage, country cottage inspired design.
