While we all concentrate on the obvious details of our interior spaces such as wallpaper, furniture and carpets, sometimes we neglect the finishing touches that can often create one of the biggest focal points in our rooms...doors. This season DESIGNER DOORS are set to take the interior design world by storm from simple single doors, to patio doors and double doors, these interior features are both stylish and functional. With a wide variety of traditional and modern doors on the market you will be spoilt for choice when choosing the perfect designer door for your home.
Traditional
Period style internal doors make a stylish feature in any traditional home. It is often difficult to find original Edwardian, Art Deco or Victorian style doors to reuse so modern companies have made some fabulous reproduction doors that are sure to create a visual focal point within the room. Edwardian or Victorian style doors can be painted in classic period colours such as rich green, red or blue or left in a natural wood finish with some classic stained and leaded glass that will capture the light. If you prefer a more glamorous interior look then opt for some Art deco double doors with a black gloss finish and elegant gold handles, hinges and decor that will add some shimmering luxury to any room of the home. This style of door also works well as a wardrobe doors for a hint of Hollywood style glamour.
Modern
If you have a more contemporary home interior then modern interior doors will compliment the finish of your chosen room. High gloss doors make a sleek and stylish finish to a modern or minimal room. Opt for slick white or grey for a sophisticated finish with bi-folding or sliding designs making a practical addition to your interior space. Mirrored finishes also look great in contemporary home interiors and work well on wardrobe doors, cupboard doors and bathroom units to create a hint of glamour and a sense of light and illumination that helps to create space in smaller rooms of the home.
Front and Patio Doors
This look is not just for internal doors but those that link the inside to the outside of your home. Your front door is the first thing that guests see when they visit your home so creating maximum impact is a must. Classic wood effect PVC doors can be decorated with stylish cut glass panels and decor for a stylish traditional look. Painted front doors recreate the elegance of period style house fronts and can be adorned with classic or modern door numbers and knockers for a striking visual finish. If you have enough room then patio or French doors make a great feature linking your garden to your living areas. Opt for modern bi-folding designs that can be folded back fully to create a removable wall within your room or select some double opening doors featuring classic glass or frosted finishes for added privacy.
