Enchanted Interiors

This Autumn/Winter why not transform your home into a fantastical and magical space with an ENCHANTED INTERIOR DESIGN. A combination of forest prints, woodland animals and fairytale accessories come together to create a relaxed yet detailed interior that will take you away to a far away land of style and elegance.

Wall murals and wallpaper are a great way of creating an enchanted feel in your chosen room. A beautiful woodland landscape will create the perfect backdrop for an elegant and magical interior design or alternatively opt for silhouette wallpaper featuring trees and branches that will look great on a main feature wall. Woodland animals also work well on wallpapers with a selection of squirrels, foxes or deer creating a cute featur

e in a living room or bedroom area. For a children’s bedroom then why not opt for a castle backdrop or a fairy meadow that can be accentuated with glitter or metallic accents for a pop of magical sparkle.

There are lots of enchanted cushions, throws and bedding available on the high street this season. I absolutely adore this enchanted hybrid animal cushion (right) from George at Asda that features an array of cute and quirky animals as well as webs, clocks and butterflies that give the design a truly magical and otherworldly look. Satin fabrics work really well in an enchanted style room; opt for silver, white or metallic pastel hues for a delicate and feminine feel. Alternatively if you wish to recreate a magical cottage style look then opt for chunky knitted cushions and throws and place alongside furs and hides that give a cosy and snug appearance.

Lighting plays a key role in creating an enchanted ambiance within your home. Filigree style pendant lights with trees, butterflies or leave print designs make a fabulous focal point in any room and create beautiful shadows around the walls, adding to the magical feel of this interior design. Classic diamante chandeliers are a more glamorous option and recreate the beauty and elegance of an enchanted ballroom.

For an enchanted forest style design then opt for classic pillar candles with ornate leaf shaped holders or select chunky, bark candles that will create a cosy and natural feel in your chosen room. If you love a little sparkle in your life then opt for some twinkling fairy lights with butterfly, leaf or pom pom designs that can be trailed around a mirror, picture or headboard for added detail.

There are two distinct looks you can create when selecting furniture for an enchanted home interior. If you wish to create a soft and delicate fairytale look then opt for painted, carved furniture such as French style items that will create a visual statement in your room. Ornate dining tables, carved bed frames and display cabinets work really well within this trend in soft white or shabby chic styles for an antique style authenticity. Alternatively if you prefer to embrace the enchanted forest style of home then opt for chunky oak furniture with classic vintage style handles that will look fabulous with cosy fabrics and colour palettes to create a warm and welcoming interior space.

Accessories will create the finishing touch in any room and will add detail and character to an enchanted style space. For a truly magical feel opt for quirky and unique accessories that will create a distinct focal point in your home. Animal ornaments such as rabbits, birds and deer will look great displayed in a large dresser or along a mantelpiece for a woodland inspired look. Fill large glass vases with a selection of ornate feathers in varying styles such as peacock and bird of prey that will create an elegant and striking look in your room. These beautiful coasters from Anthropologie (right) are one of my must have accessories this season. The beautiful moonlight design will look wonderful on a coffee table or dining table to complete your enchanted look.
