If you have spent hours deliberating on your new kitchen interior, picking out cupboards, worktops and flooring, there may have been one crucial item that you have overlooked...the sink. STYLISH SINKS are a huge trend for 2018 as they create a focal point within your kitchen interior. No matter if your kitchen is traditional or modern, bright or neutral; a stylish sink will add a sophisticated designer touch to your finished look.
Traditional kitchens can be completed with a classic farmhouse style, apron sink in a white or cream ceramic finish. These sinks create a cosy and rustic feel in your kitchen interior and their sunken appearance creates a perfect focal point in front of an open window area. If you prefer a more metallic finish then opt for a cast iron, copper or brass effect sink that will look great in a cream or natural wooden kitchen area and can be partnered with co-ordinating copper or brass sink plugs, taps and kitchen accessories. Opt for a single sink for smaller kitchen interiors or why not select a double sink with a side draining area that is perfect for separating any washing up or food preparation.
Modern kitchens can be a little more flamboyant with their choice of kitchen sink. Composite sinks are a perfect choice for contemporary kitchen areas as they come in a vast range of styles, sizes and colours. For a sleek and sophisticated sink option then why not opt for a black composite sink with a chrome hose or waterfall tap that will give a stylish edge to your kitchen area. If you love some opulence and glamour then why not opt for a glittered composite sink that will look great nestled on top of a plain coloured or white worktop. If you have opted for a high gloss, brightly coloured kitchen then you can co-ordinate your units with your sink by opting for a bold coloured acrylic sink that will create a stylish feature within the room.
The location and position of your sink will add to the stylish finish that it will produce. The traditional placement of a sink in front of the window is still an ever popular choice in the majority of kitchen interiors and is perfect for those who enjoy looking at their exterior views while washing up and drying dishes. A more modern placement for the kitchen sink is in a kitchen island or breakfast bar. Although this can be more difficult with plumbing it does create a real feature in the room and can be ideal for separating any mess and keeping the rest of the kitchen worktops free and uncluttered. Don’t forget to team your sink with the perfect tap that can be a functional and visually stylish element of your kitchen interior. Hose style taps are great for cleaning all areas of your sink or rinsing plates or you could also include a boiling water tap that is great for cleaning as well as making a cup of tea while you wash up!
