The kitchen island features a solid black granite top that is surrounded by a solid oak outer frame, this solid oak outer frame also features a knife slot on both sides of the island. This is a great and safe place to store your sharp knifes when you’re cooking.

The large kitchen island has plenty of storage space due to the three full length top drawers that opens from both ends, these provide you with a great place to store all your cutlery and utensils. Below there is a large central two door cupboard that opens from both sides which also has an internal shelf that offers you plenty of storage space for your pots and pans. To the side of this you have a 30 bottle wine rack and on the other side you have an open shelf area that is ideal to display your cook books and favourite pots and bowls.

The oak has a hand applied weathered limed oak finish that really brings out the natural beauty in the oak grain. The weathered limed oak finish oozes character and is achieved by hand rubbing white wax into the oak grain and it is then finished with a protective matt lacquered finish that is hardwearing and maintenance free.

This kitchen island is supplied with two types of round handle (brushed steel and matching weathered limed oak) giving you a choice. These handles perfectly compliment this item and give it an attractive feel that is both at home in a modern or traditional setting.

This oak kitchen island is skilfully hand made with traditional time honoured construction methods using a combination of high quality North American solid oak for the top frame that surrounds a solid black granite top, solid pine for the drawer sides and thick oak veneers in panels for increased strength and durability over time. The drawers features dovetail joints for increased strength.

Solid oak varies in grain depth, pattern and colour and therefore you will see natural differences in colour within each item of furniture and within the solid oak used. The weathered limed oak finish is designed to accentuate the oak grain and therefore items with deeper grain structures will appear whiter in appearance compared to pieces with shallower oak grain structures. This is because the deeper oak grains will hold more of the white wax that is hand rubbed into it to get the desired weathered limed oak effect. This is perfectly normal and the furniture is designed this way and each item oozes individual character.

This item is delivered Free of charge by our own two man delivery team, it is delivered in two boxes for easy access into your home. The base comes fully assembled and the top section with the granite insert is simply lifted on top of the base and then screwed into place from underneath. Please note that is a very heavy piece of furniture so please ensure you have good access into your home to enable this to fit through doorways etc. The maximum width of the island base unit is 64cm so please ensure you measure your doorways to ensure this will fit through.
